Madrasah management software built for UK maktabs

Registers on a tablet, Hifz progress per child, and fees collected by BACS Direct Debit on the 1st of the month — without a volunteer chasing envelopes on a Saturday morning. Hidayah runs a live UK madrasah every day.

Everything in one place

Registers, fees, Hifz and parents — one system

Hidayah replaces the spreadsheet, the paper register, the mutaba'ah book and the payment-chasing group chat.

Fee collection in £

Automatic monthly collection on your chosen day — most fees arrive in the first week.

Attendance in two minutes

Teachers mark the register on a tablet or phone. Absences, lates and excuses are logged, and patterns show up before they become problems.

Hifz & Quran progress

Hifz, Qaida and Tajweed tracking per child — the digital mutaba'ah book parents can actually see, without changing how teachers work.

Parent portal

Every family signs in at your own web address to see attendance, progress, balances and receipts. No app to install, nothing to print.

Reminders that behave

Automatic fee reminders with a hard cap — and they go quiet the moment a payment is on its way, so nobody is pushed into paying twice.

Built for non-computer people

Every button states its real-world outcome in plain words. Dangerous actions are guarded or impossible. Designed with volunteer admins, not IT staff.

Fees, done properly

Direct Debit fee collection — the UK way

Cash and bank-transfer chasing is why madrasah committees dread month-end. With Hidayah, a parent authorises a BACS Direct Debit once, and every month's fee collects itself.

  • Automatic monthly collection on your chosen day — most fees arrive in the first week
  • Pennies per collection instead of card percentages; parents are covered by the Direct Debit Guarantee
  • Cash and bank transfers can still be recorded, so the ledger has one version of the truth
  • Reminders go quiet while a payment is clearing — parents are never pushed into paying twice
Fee collection, £, BACS

Set up once. Collected every month.

Sibling discounts, custom amounts and one-off charges (trips, books, Ramadan appeals) all sit alongside the monthly fee — with a receipt for everything.

Battle-tested daily

Built with a live madrasah, not in a lab

Hidayah runs a real madrasah's registers, Hifz tracking and fee collection every single day. The rough edges volunteer admins actually hit are the ones we fix first.

  • Double-payment protection at every level — parents can never be charged twice for one fee
  • Confirmations say what will really happen ("These 30 students will stop being charged") — never technical jargon
  • A receipt and an audit trail for every payment, waiver and refund
  • Onboarding done with you over a call — we import your students and set up fees together
Why schools switch

The committee stops being a collections agency

Fees arrive in the first week of the month. Parents check their own balances. Disagreements about who-paid-what end, because there is a receipt for everything.

Common questions

Questions from the UK

Does Hidayah support BACS Direct Debit for madrasah fees?

Yes. Parents authorise a Direct Debit once through Stripe, and monthly fees are collected automatically on your collection day. Card payments are optional and can be switched off. Cash and bank transfers can be recorded manually so all payments live in one ledger.

Is it suitable for a small volunteer-run maktab?

That is exactly who it is built for. The admins we design for are not computer people — every screen states its real-world outcome in plain words, dangerous actions are guarded, and onboarding is done with you over a call. There is no self-serve setup to get lost in.

How does the parent portal work?

Each madrasah gets its own web address (your-madrasah.hidayah.me). Parents sign in to see attendance, Hifz progress, fee balances and payment history, and can pay outstanding fees online. No app to install.

Where is our data held and is it GDPR compliant?

Data is stored securely, handled in line with UK GDPR, and each madrasah's data is fully isolated from every other school on the platform. You can request an export of your data at any time.

We currently use spreadsheets and WhatsApp — how hard is switching?

We import your student list from a spreadsheet, set up classes and fees with you on a call, and invite parents by email. Most maktabs are collecting by Direct Debit within their first month.

What does it cost?

Pricing is per school size with no setup fee — see the pricing section on our home page, or ask on the demo and we will quote for your madrasah's numbers.
